How Can MemTurbo™ 4.1 Increase My Performance? Your computer has both physical memory (which is fast) and virtual memory (hundreds or thousands of times slower).  MemTurbo™ 4.1 works to try to always keep at least some physical memory ready for immediate use.  When a program needs physical memory for an operation, the operating system might need to flush used, or "dirty" pages to disk, which can be hundreds or thousands of times slower than just using available physical ram.  By incurring this penalty at a time that you chose (during MemTurbo™ 4.1's scrub, for example) rather than during some important operation, your interactive experience at the computer can be faster and more responsive.  Thus, the raw processing power of your computer is not increased but the things you do interactively with the computer - from games to the Internet - can be faster.   This translates to greater performance for the things you care about. How Can MemTurbo™ 4.1 Recover Memory Leaks and Prevent Crashes? Any modern Windows computer, even without MemTurbo™ 4.1, will eventually recover leaked memory by making copies of that leaked memory in the computer's "page file" and returning the real physical memory to active use.  A problem arises, however, when no more virtual memory is available:  Windows will run out to make more, but it doesn't say to requesting programs "Hold on, I'll be right back with more!".  Instead, it says "Sorry, we're all out!", and then makes more to be available at some later time.  This is where many programs crash, hang, or corrupt data, because the parts of many programs that are  designed to handle this contingency are often missing, or if present, poorly tested and unreliable.
